Seven questions to ask
- Are you a CEC Approved Solar Retailer, and are your installers accredited?
- Do your own electricians do the install, or subcontractors?
- Which panel, inverter and battery brands, exactly?
- Have you visited my roof, or is this quote from a satellite photo?
- Is the price fixed, with the incentives already off?
- What is your workmanship warranty, and who honours the product warranties?
- Who do I call if something goes wrong in five years?
Red flags
- Pressure to sign today for a special price.
- No brand names on the quote.
- A deposit far larger than usual before any work.
- No site visit before a fixed price.
